Cultural Wayfinding

Seeking to foster global citizenship on the Indiana University campus, we developed a strategic system of concepts to connect students with IU's various cultural resources. They key to this project was finding different ways to visually communicate our concepts to various groups of people. Our concept system is presented in the presentation below, along with a range of images from the process.

We conducted interviews with various departments on campus that deal with cultural events, and took documentary photos to help us understand what the university has to offer culturally and in terms of wayfinding methods. We held several collaborative sketching sessions and used role-playing scenarios to create a collection of concepts that connect students to four types of resources: people, places, events, and culture.
